An induction program was conducted for the MDS Batch 2021 from 11th November to 22nd November, 2021. This one-week programme was initiated by Dr. SubramanyaSharma, Principal and coordinated by the Dental Education Committee. i.e. Dr. Krishna Priya, Dr. Ajay Reddy,Dr. Madhusudhana Rao, Dr. Soujanya, Dr. Pratima Soni and Dr. Sai geeta. The first day of induction program was graced by Dr. Subramanya Sharma, Principal, Col. P.G. Krishna, Registrar, Head of various departments and all the teaching faculty members. All firstyear MDS students and few parents attended the program.

The program began with the lecture“Introduction to ACDS”, by Dr. David Tyro, Senior Lecturer, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, followed by the Welcome address by Principal Sir. Dr. Sukhvinder Bindra enlightened students with “Outcome based education programme”. On the following days of the program, the MDS students were given an insight into topics like details of MDS Syllabus, mentorship program, Sexual Harassment, documentation of dental records, importance of clinical case recording, dental photography, effective seminar presentation, Research methodology, basics of biostatistics and bio ethics, Principles of Andragogy, interdisciplinary management of clinical cases, soft skills, PBL,CBL and computer skills byfaculty members of various departments.They were also introduced to college committees, anti- ragging and code of conduct. Students visited all the Departments and interacted with Head of the Departments and faculty members. Faculty members explained about the facilities available in their departments. The overall program was well received by all the MDS 1st year students with positive feedback.

Army College Of Dental sciences is a NAAC ‘A’ accredited Dental College which was started with the aim to impart high standard dental education coupled with development of good moral character among the children of regular Army personal, Army pensioners and Army widows!
